What Causes Vertigo After Using Mupirocin Cream?

My doctor prscribed l/4 tube (MUPIROCIN) in saline solution inserted twice a day. I have been using for almost a month. The last 5 days I have been experiencing vertigo and not feeling well. I am waiting to hear from my doctor. I told him I was alergic to CIPRO when I had similar reaction and ended up in hospital. Is this medication in the same family as CIPRO?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Thank you for trusting HCM

Mupirocin and ciprofloxacin are not the same class of medication. Vertigo is not a side effect of mupirocin.
Please follow up with your doctor to identify the cause of vertigo. Ear infections, inner ear problems, central nervous system problem can cause vertigo.

Hope this answers your question
