My doctor says I have uterine bleeding so started me on microgynon 30 at 2 pills during the first 5 days and 1 pill a day for the remainder of the pack to regulate my period. This is my 8th day on the pill and I m still spotting. Shouldn t the bleeding have completely stopped by now? My period started from the 25th February, it s now the 28th March.

Hi, I think you should have stopped spotting by 5th data itself. If it doesn't happen, then you might need some other medicines like Tranexamic acid to stop the spotting. You may need to change the microgynon to a pill containing a combination of estrogen and progesterone. Discuss with your doctor regarding this. Also get a thyroid profile and prolactin levels and a ultrasound for your uterus and ovaries done to find out the cause of irregular bleeding. Hope I have answered your question.
