What Causes Vaginal Bleeding After An Intercourse?

I had sex with my boyfriend and when he pulled out there was an excess amount of blood coming out, it s been 3 days later and when I touch my vagina maybe about a tablespoon of blood comes out. Is this normal? I m very worried. Also something abnormal is sticking from the bottom of my vagina, this is where the bleeding is coming from, not the inside of the vaginal canal. Help!

Hello,
If this was your very first intercourse, it is possible that the hymen may have got ruptured. This can cause bleeding, sometimes profuse. The torn membrane can remain as a skin tag before it heals. Another possibility is a labial tear; a polyp of the cervix bleeding on touch is yet another possibility. You need an immediate local examination by a specialist to locate the exact source of the bleeding and plan proper management. Styptics may be used to arrest the bleeding to some extent. Hope this helps.
