What Causes Vaginal Bleeding After A Hernia Surgery?

I had hernia surgery 4 weeks ago. I also had a uterine ablation over 5 years ago therefore, I don t have a period. Tonight I started bleeding after a short walk around the block. Is this a coincidence? Am I bleeding because of an issue from the hernia?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Hernia surgery doesn’t cause vaginal bleeding. It might be due to something else. As of now, you can take Tranexamic Acid tablets to control bleeding and consult a gynecologist at the earliest.

Wishing you good health.

Thanks.
