What Causes Urinary Incontinence After The Abortion?
Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here...Dear Dr.I am 20yrs old and underwent a surgical abortion 2weeks ago. Ive experienced scanty bleeding and some backaches and cramps.What was worrying me though is slight discomfort(mild pain and burning) during urination and great urgency whenever i want to go.since i had been urinating a lot during my pregnancy(6 weeks) i drank lots of fluids to clear the urethra.the pain went away but the urgency did not.today morning i woke up and realised i had wet my bed.This has never happened before.I thought that perhaps i might have a UTI but i had taken antibiotics 4weeks ago(Zinat) and fluconazole for a candid infection.Ihave had a UTI before but i have none of the symptoms now except the urgency.What might be causing the loss of bladder control?Could the pregnancy and abortion be a cause?Please help.

As per my clinical experience, the urinary incontinence after abortion may indicate possible urinary infection, problems with internal urethral sphincter via instrumentation or else.
A thorough clinical examination with OBGY and urologist to find out the cause and manage accordingly is recommended.
In my clinic, I recommend uroflowmetry report as the initial step to proceed ahead.
