What Causes Thundering In Ear?

I have a constant thundering in my left ear, this has been going on for around 4 to 6 months now, tonight it is seriously freaking me out and I have tooth pain and ear pain with it which never happened before. I have a piercing on the little nub between the ear and the face I cant remember what that part is called but I lost the ball on the earring and did not find it so I am wondering if this could be caused by an object in my ear or if it could be more serious? It is like a beating or thundering in my ear, not a ringing sound. It does not go along with my own heart beat, it is irregular and cases the feeling of vibration on my face as well.
