What Causes Throbbing Pain In Outer Ear, Cold And Cough?

My outer ear is throbbing. I have had a bad cold and cough but it is getting better but the throbbing of the ear has not. It does not hurt inside the ear but is tender around the outside. There is no fever either and per Dr there is no swelling. Yet when I swallow it makes the ear throb too.

Hi, the throat is connected to the ear by a tube called Eustachian tube, and infection is transferred. Throbbing may be due to middle ear infection. Please consult your doctor for local examination and course of antibiotics. Meanwhile do steam inhalation with Eucalyptus oil--regards
