What Causes The Labium Major And Clitoris To Turn Dark Brown?

Hello. I am a 15 year old African American . I am a virgin and for about a year now, the area around my labium majora and near my clit has turned dark brown. I also have an abnormal discharge that is smelly and white. Sometimes it hurts like its irrated and it is kind of itchy. Is it itchy cuz i shave? What do I have? Is it serious and if so, should I tell my mom about it so I can see a doctor? I don't want her to worry if this can be treated with store bought products. Help! Thanks in advance .

I have gone through your query.It is normal to get a dark color for genital area like labia majora and clitoris.It is due to the action of sex hormones.If you are getting smelly or abnormal discharge then a bacterial vaginosis can be suspected.In such case i treat my patients with combination of antibiotics like metronidazole or clindamycin with clotrimazole in form of vaginal suppository or oral tab.I also recommend them to use intimate wash regularly to normalize vaginal bacterial flora and PH and there by prevent getting further infections.Hope this may help you.
