Hi, I'm a 20 year old female and in the last two days, my left breast has swollen to about twice its size. There is some mild soreness but no other symptoms as far as I can tell. I'm really nervous about this and wondering what I should do or what specialist I should see?
Usually breast swelling happens when a women gives birth to child and not able to breast feed baby with milk properly. That milk gets collected and gets congested in breast and gives picture of swelling. This usually happens and it is normal. You have not shared whether you are married or not? I suggest you to consult a doctor for it and no wasting of time about this.
Well with above discussion you can try out my suggestions:
1. If married and pregnant, visit a nearby obstetric-gynecologist specialist, if the problem is related to pregnancy they will help you.
2. If not married, I strongly insist you to visit a nearby general surgeon or surgical oncologist to have a look at the problem and for further help.
I hope this was informative enough, helpful and useful. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Sudha Rani Panagar
