i am a 62 yr old female, right now i am in recovery for an anterior cervical fusion on jan. 9th and wearing a hard collar, i have always been thin, 5 10 125 lbs. stress before surgery went down to 116, but in the past couple of weeks have gained and now at 122 lbs. i had my appendix out when i was 7 yrs old and it was infected so an exploratory surgery was done and back then they did not do the bikini cut, and my body does not scar well so scar is thicker than usual and over the years my stomach is never flat, has always been pulled in where scar is and i noticed yesterday when getting dressed that above scar when i place fingers over abdomen it feels thick - don t know if i would say lump or bump because it is not hard, almost like small swollen area but under the skin. no pain and not tender to touch. maybe like inch and a half area, it has been very difficult to lay in bed with the aspen collar and i thought maybe it is a hernia from trying so many different positions to sleep. thank you in advance
