Hi thanks for writing to health care magic.
Sudden Increase in heart rate, while resting could be due to sympathetic stimulation. There are many causes for sympathetic stimulation and feeling tense, getting frightened are some of the common causes. It has started at the age of 13 and still persistent at the age of 17, anemia (decreased hemoglobin) and hyperthyroidism are to be ruled out as causes for your problem. It can be even a normal without any cause. You need some basic investigations like complete blood count.ECG and thyroid profile. Consult a physician who may examine you and may prescribe you above mentioned test to find out the cause for increase in your heart rate.
Hope this answers your question.
