hi my answer .what is the risk of suddenly death post laporascopic cholecystectomy on second day if the petiont previusly hhealthy .and what my cause it???
Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.
I am hepatobiliary surgeon and I have to say that death as a complication of laparoscopic cholecystectomy is an extremly rare scenario, especially in younger and healthy people. This risk may be bit higher in case of cholecystitis or cholangitis, but still this is pretty rare. Causes may be related to surgery or may be related to heart and lung function, Some surgical complications such as bleeding may lead to hemorhagic shock and death in early postoeprative period. Other such as infection would lead to longer period between surgery and death. Heart related complications include myocardial infarct which may happen as in any person. However, most common cause of sudden death is pulmonary embolism which can not easily be prevented and there are no some warning signs of it before or after surgery. If there are any doubts about his death then autopsy should be done and you have right on it... Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.
Wishing you good health.
