My daughter has TTP, and has had both of her kidneys removed - she has no spleen - she goes for dialysis 3 days a week. now she is in in ICU with a nitro drip - she will not tell me much more than that except that she had a stroke a few months back because of her blood pressure. Could you explain this to me?
Thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP) is a blood disorder that causes blood clots to form in small blood vessels around the body. This leads to a low platelet count. stroke here that is due to formation of small blood clots only that my lodge in to small vessels of brain which supplies nutrition to brain so brain will go for ischemia and loses its function so she might have got stroke. with anticoagulant therapy we can make her alive and prevent complications like stroke
