What Causes Strep Throat And Rashes All Over Body?

My daughter has been diagnosed with epstein-barr and has known about it for several years. Lately, she has been diagnosed with strep throat and immediately breaks out with a rash all over her body. Is this rash caused from her autoimmune system not being able to fight off the toxins in her system?

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Streptococcal pharyngitis/tonsillitis can lead to scarlet fever characterized by sore throat and rashes. This rash is due to local reaction between inflammatory mediators and toxins produced by bacteria.Another differential diagnosis is infectious mononucleosus which is caused by ebv, which can cause a rash which is non itching and disappears abruptly. This should be differentiated from drug induced rash after afministration of antibiotics(amoxycillin, ampicillin) which is itchy, longstanding.
