Brief Answer:
This is the convalescence of Mono. It could be as long as 3-4weeks!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Infectious mononucleosis has a long duration of convalescence/recovery. I will recommend nothing beyond further rest and good nutrition. Also, she should avoid contact sport. Increased fluid intake and Tylenol for pain relief is okay.

I understand your concerns as a mother but she is well within the normal recovery period.

I hope this helps, reliefs your fears and reassures you. I wish your daughter well. Feel free to follow up with me if need be.

Brief Answer:
Is your daughter having a boyfriend? Any kisses!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Her course is not atypical for mononucleosis.

However, her age isn't so much of a risk factor. I will like you to ask her if she has a boyfriend or has been kissing anyone.

It's also strange to here you say you equally have this? It is not such an infection that runs in families or can be easily transmitted between household members without intimate oral contact.

Let me know how this goes.

Brief Answer:
I'll recommend you get her in for further evaluation!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

While am less convinced there is something more to this, I will be prudent and request for a second evaluation. This will at least provide further evidence on what is going on and alleviate your concerns.

Keep me updated!
