What Causes Sticky Black Stool?
For the past several months i have experienced sticky black stool in a big clump. I have terrible gas througout the day. After I eat I get cramps like you get if you eat something that doesnt agree with you. It started a few months ago & I stopped having dairy which didnt help. It doesn t matter if I eat a salad or a sandwich I get the same symptoms. I am 41 years old.

Hello. What you have is melena. Its bleeding from the stomach up to the first part of duodenum. The blood when it passes through the gut reacts with its constituents to get to this color. If you are any drug that can cause a gastric bleed like aspirin plz stop it. Stop any pain killers if you are on any. Get a stool occult blood test done. You will need an endoscopy at the earliest. Plz visit a Gastro physician. Take care.
