What Causes Spotting Post Implanon Withdrawal?

My implanon expired a little over two years ago and a month ago I started getting this brown mucusy period like discharge. It s causing an unusual smell to come out of my vaginally. What s wrong? Will removing the implanon make it go away? Can this causes infertility? I m concerned

IT IS BETTER TO GET THE IMPLANON REMOVED SINCE IT IS EXPIRED.THE CAUSE FOR IRREGULAR BLEEDING IS PROGESTERONE LIBERATED FROM IMPLANON.THE SMELLY DISCHARGE COULD BE DUE TO COEXISTING INFECTION OF GENITAL TRACT.U MAY NEED A CLINICAL EXAMINATION AND A COURSE OF ANTIBIOTIC.IMPLANON AS SUCH DO NOT CAUSE INFERTILITY AFTER REMOVAL.HOWEVER UNTREATED GENITAL INFECTION CAN CAUSE.
