What Causes Sporadic Spotting After Taking Plan B Contraceptive?
I have been taking Minastrin 24 Fe for 4 years now, and I have never missed a pill until the start of my last pack. I went to take the third pill of the pack and I noticed that I had missed the first two. I took all three of them at once, and then one a day each day after that. I did not have unprotected sex until 8 days later, and I believe I should have been okay since the package insert says to use back up for 7 days. However, I freaked out and took the morning after pill within 12 hours. I continued to take my Minastrin as normal. I have not had any side effects, and I m waiting to get to the end of my pack to get my period. I have not noticed anything different, other than today (9 days after taking Plan B) I had VERY light pink/brown discharge in the morning that lasted until the afternoon. Is sporadic spotting normal on the birth control pill? What are the chances that I could be pregnant?

Your pregnancy chance is nil as you are on the regular birth control pill and you had not sex for 8 days after taking missed pills.
Your bleeding is due to Plan B pill. It is just breakthrough bleeding as it prevent the implantation (because it contain high progesterone). It will occur 7-8 days after taking plan B pill and will goes of in 3-4 days. Next period may be delayed by 5-7 days.
Spotting may be seen in Birth control pill user as a side effect. So do not worry. If period will delay by 12-14 days then clear your doubt by home pregnancy kit and or blood HCG.
