What Causes Spinal Thinning?

A few months ago my husband had a chest xray. He was told he had an overlaying soft tissue mass in his lower right lobe close to his liver. He was also diagnosed with thinning of his spine and was told to take 5,000 units of vitamind D3. Why would his spine be thinning and what is this mass???

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The spinal thinning can happen due to poor calcium deposition in the bones. Proper biopsy of the mass is needed to find its exact cause.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Praveen Tayal, Orthopaedic Surgeon
