Hi dear user
I have gone through your question.
I can understand your concern.

You have pain in the thyroid gland and probably a slight enlargement of the thyroid gland. This can be signs of subacute thyroiditis.Subacute thyroiditis is a rare condition. It is thought to be caused by a viral infection. The condition often occurs after a viral infection of the ear, sinus, or throat.

The most obvious symptom of subacute thyroiditis is pain in the neck caused by a swollen and inflamed thyroid gland. Sometimes, the pain can spread (radiate) to the jaw or ears. The thyroid gland may be painful and swollen for weeks or, in rare cases, months.

My advice is to consult your doctor and to do the thyroid tests TSH,T3,T4 Radioactive iodine uptake, Thyroglobulin level, Erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR).After this tests your doctor will be able to reach the diagnose and to give the necessary treatement.

Don't worry, if the exact diagnose is subacute thyroiditis, the condition may last for weeks-months but should improve on its own.

Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
