What Causes Soreness And Pain In The Tip Of Penis?

I swam in the ocean today, and then walked back to my car to get something that was a few blocks away. This produced a chaffing on the very tip of my penis. It is red just around the urethra and very painful from the slightest touch. It is painful from water, urin, coconut oil, or the slightest touch of a gauze pad. Any suggestions?

Hello,

You are suffering from soreness and pain in the tip of the penis after you swam in the ocean. Penis pain can be caused by injuries, skin infections or irritation, sensitivity to allergy. You can apply a thin layer of ointment cream containing antihistamine on the area affected. Applying Soframycin cream will also give relieve. Apply medicine after thorough washing your private area. Avoid sex or any type of sexual activity for a couple of days till the soreness goes. You can take acetaminophen, one SOS when you are hurting due to soreness.

Other medical condition that may cause similar symptoms are urinary tract infection, urethritis, prostatitis, or sexually transmitted infections. Urethritis is an infection that occurs along the urinary tract. Iit results in pain when urinating or discharges from the tip of the penis. Sometimes even when not urinating, you can feel the pain along the urethra or tip of the penis. Medical conditions that may cause pain or burning sensation at the tip of the penis are kidney and urinary bladder stones.

Potential crystals in the urine can mechanically damage the walls of the urethra and cause immense pain. Get clinically examined by a Urologist if the symptoms remain persistent. Get urinalysis (R/E and C/S) done. Get USG done to detect stones, you will be treated accordingly. In the meantime drink sufficient quantities of water to flush out the toxins. Stay away from addictions if any.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
