What Causes Sore Throat And Mucus Drainage In Throat After Having Unprotected Sex?

i had unprotected sex about 2 weeks ago now and I recently developed a minor sore throat with mucus drainage in my throat and my ears are popping. I also work in retail and have helped some kids that have been sick. Is what I have a common head cold or is it something more serious?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I don't think you are having symptoms of STD. Possibly the symptoms you are having may be related to common cold or viral infection acquired by working with the kids. Take Tylenol for fever and congestion. Rinse nose with saline solution.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
