Hi,

Although slow heart heart has many causes, including health fit athlete, I would advise you to get an Electrocardiogram (ECG) done, which records the heart rhythm, as one of the common presentation of cardiac sarcoidosis (the one involving the heart) can cause heart blocks.

Once these blocks are rule out, then I would suggest having TSH levels done, as hypothyroidism is one of the common cause of slow pulse rate in this age.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr Muhammad Zahir Shah
