What Causes Sinusitis Along With Sore Throat?

I have had what I believe is a sinus infection for a week or so...fever now and then, nasal congestion, sore throat. These symptoms seem to be diminishing. However, I got up this morning and my right eye was mattering. This has continued all day. Might this be another manifestation of the sinus infection, or could it be conjunctivitis?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello, my name is Dr.Dorina Gurabardhi. I understand your concern.
The sinuses are hollow pockets within the bones surrounding the nose. They produce mucus, which drains into the nose. If your nose is swollen due to inflammation, it can block the sinuses and cause pain, congestion, post-nasal drip, a cough, and tooth or facial pain.
Some advices that I can give to you for sinusitis are:
-Flush your nasal passages.
-Hot water vapor can help moisten the sinuses.
-Stay hydrated
-Spicy foods such as mustard, hot peppers, curry, horseradish, and wasabi may help clear sinuses.
-Allergy-proof your home.
-Use a humidifier.
-Apply warm compresses.
-Don’t ask for antibiotics right away. Using antibiotics can lead to antibiotic resistance so try first this advices.
