I just had a cat scan w contrast and the technician did not tell me to drink a lot of water after. Towards the evening I am feeling short of breath and felt something on my side wc is prob my kidney. I am now drinking lot of water before I sleep so I can take it out of my system . Any other suggestions?
First of all it's sad to know what you had been going through lately.
Based on the history you have shared, such symptoms can be due to contrast allergies, renal side effects of contrast or due to Pulmonary oedema due to excessive water drinking so better should be ruled out and managed accordingly.
These can be dangerous side effects so better be evaluated by your primary care physician. Diuretic medications as well as anti allergic or steroid shot may be needed if suspectijg contrast allergies.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
