General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

First of ask your wife whether she has any history of any trauma and I hope she is not in any medication.

There could be various possibility ranging from an inflammatory reaction to trauma to anaphylaxis.

All of which needs evaluation at the hospital. Since she has swelling and pain in her foot ranging in 10 kindly get to ER AND EVALUATE.

TILL GETTING THERE YOU CAN DO THE FOLLOWING:

1) Immobilize her foot.

2) Could take ibuprofen for pain

3) Apply ice packs

4) Call someone for help and take her to ER

5) Make sure she is breathing well and she is warm (apply a blanket).

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
