What Causes Severe Sound Distortion In Ear?

I woke up ten days ago and found I was deaf in my right ear. I made an appointment with a Nurse Practitioner who told me that I had a lot of wax therein and that the ear needed to be syringed out. I had this done a week later and, since then, have experienced severe sound distortion in the ear. Why? Is this a common side-effect? Will it get better?

Syringing is done commonly for conditions like wax, fungal infections, foreign bodies, clear out debris.Syringing is very safe in experienced hands.Complications like hole in ear drum occur rarely.Caloric effect is feeling of dizziness while syringing if saline used is too warm or cold.Distortion of sound after syringing could indicate injury to ear drum. This can only be ruled out after ear examination by a specialist.Wait for a week and till then keep your ear dry.
