General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The pain you describe is typical of cervical spondylitis at uppermost vertebrae in the spinal cord. You were right in going for MRI confirmation of site of nerve trapping can confirm the line of treatment (anticonvulsant medicine like Gabapentin/physiotherapy, traction or surgery if needed).

Till you get your report &meet your orthopaedic. Take rest. Wear cervical collar. It will restrict neck movements), avoid bending or extreme extension of neck./Foment the part along with the medicines prescribed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
