Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I ve been suffering with itching in the groin area. I ve seen a doctor, and over the years been given various medications, but help. I ve used betamethasone dipropionate which bring a little relief. Found out later that it has a skin thinning affect. I ve used Sarna lotions again temporary reliel. Over the counter products such as Exederm only mask - sort deadens the area only to have the itch come back with veagence. Why is it that someone can recommend a cure for my issue?
Most probably, it is due to superficial fungal infection like jock itch. As a first line management, you can apply topical anti-fungal like Clotrimazole for symptomatic relief. If symptoms persists better to consult a dermatologist and get evaluated.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Wishing you good health.
Thanks.
Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
