Hello there , thanks for writing in.
The answer to your question is no..your bladder repair has nothing to do with your hot flashes.
Night sweats and hot flashes are the hallmark of estrogen deficit state in the body which is typically caused by
menopause. But
hormone replacement therapy could aggravate your breast lump and hence you are withheld from HRT. If your hot flashes are troubling you, do discuss following options with your doctor to get relief from your symptoms.
1. Soy and isoflavone products.
These contain non hormonal phytoestrogens which are claimed to provide some relief from hot flashes. But the safety of these haven't been proven in women with breast lump. Also it may not be effective for all women.
2. Other drugs that have been used for relieving hot flashes are
gabapentin (nerve drug), clonidine (blood pressure drug) and
venlafaxine (antidepressant). Do talk to your doctor about these options when you consider medication for your hot flashes.
Hope this little information
