Sudden onset headaches with visual symptoms need to be checked for tumors in the brain or raised intracranial pressure. *do you have any vomiting? *do you wear prescription glasses? *how old are you? *do you have any other medical issues or take any medications? *how severe is the pain, on a scale of 1-10 (1 being the lowest)? *do you smoke or consume alcohol? I recommend : -a physician consult - a CT scan of the brain. An MRI if necessary -blood tests (complete blood count, Thyroid stimulating hormone, prolactin levels, kidney & liver function tests) -urine analysis Based on these, we can arrive at a diagnosis & initiate a treatment plan. If you have any muscle weakness, or the headache worsens, or have vomiting that seems to temporarily relieve the headache, got to the ER right away.
