What Causes Severe Fatigue, Dizziness And Shaking Spells?

I feel so weak. I sleep all night and wake up tired and want to sleep more. After sleeping i wake up shaky. also i feel like someone is pushing down on my face and head, a pressure if you will. And Ive been having these spells where i feel so shaky I feel like im going to faint. Then it subsides. Is this because i dont eat enough calories during the day. I do it throughout the day small meals. I also have had minor depression in the past. And this feels a little different from that. I don t know i was fine last month. I had bloodwork done and a check up. They said my vitamin d was a little low. That was it. I m concerned and don t know if this is a form of spring fever when the weather changes?

Hi,

You should visit a doctor for the depression. It can be that you're having low sugars and more stress. So, next time whenever you feel like that, just eat a lozenge/ some sweet.
- Keep a sweet with you always
- Check your blood glucose level and HbA1C
- Vitamin D is not a problem as almost 35-40 percent of the pop have low vitamin D levels
- We can take vitamin D capsules for that (800 IU/ day) for 30 days
- Calories is not a problem, we have to start with mood stabilizers / find out the cause of depression and treat it
- If frequent e/o insomnia at night then you should call / have a personal consultation in that matter

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

General & Family Physician Dr. Dr. Nupur K's  Response
Hello,

You are feeling shaky, weak and tired. Your vitamin D is low and have minor depression. Your symptoms may be indicative of medical conditions like arrhythmia, tremors, Parkinson's disease, chronic fatigue syndrome, developing neuropathy, etc. It can also be due to low blood pressure, hypoglycemia, dehydration, side effects of certain medications, etc.

You are suggested to avoid any anxiety and stress (emotional or physical), get yourself sun exposure in the early morning, you can take food rich in vitamin D or supplements. Do not skip meals, stay well hydrated. Take soups, juice, water and beverage. Stay away from addictions if any. Avoid taking excessive caffeine. Take 7-8 hour sleep at night. Take food rich in vitamin B6, B12 for better nerve functions.

You can take Nervup OD, once daily for 10 days & take food good for the nerves. Get clinically examined by a GP, get all required tests and investigations done to detect the pathology causing you symptoms. Get all nerve function tests, nerve conduction velocity test, biopsy (if required) done. You will be treated accordingly.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
