What Causes Severe Chest Pain Even After Taking Medications?

I am having tenderness in the area of my breastbone right in the center of my chest. I feel pain in the very same place but in my back. When I swallow I can feel the area in the form of pain at a level of 3 to 4 in the front making me think it is in my esophagus but could possibly the muscles in that area. I have a pinched nerve in my neck and three degenerating discs in my back and I have had severe chest pain from the nerves that creates a painful band all the way around my chest wall and back. I know that it is not my heart. I have been tested more than once. I have never had the swallowing pain before which is why I am questioning this. I don t recall doing anything that would have strained the muscles in those areas I now feel pain in. This just started Friday night and let up overnight with Ibuprofen. I deliver pizza for a living so I am in and out of my car many times each day and have to go up and down steps a lot. Not sure how much info you need but if this is a doctor that is going to charge me for answers or suggestions I cannot afford to pay you. I can t find my symptoms on the symptom checker.

Hello,

There is pain in the center of the chest and at the same point at the back. You also have history of a pinched nerve in the neck and 3-4 degenerating discs at the back. You experience severe chest pain from the nerves and it goes all around your chest creating a painful band. You should get treated for degenerative nerves, it will reduce almost half of your symptoms. Get connected to a Physical therapist for cognitive behavioral therapies, regenerative cell therapy, etc.

Your present symptoms are indicative of MS hug caused by damage to the myelin sheath and hence inflammation within the spinal cord. The cause is genetic and environmental factors. MS hug presents as heart or breathing disorder. Get clinically examined and get MRI / CT and other required test done to rule out heart and breathing problems. You should wear loose fitting clothes, apply a warm compress effectively reduces discomfort. Take enough rest (sleep), and use deep breathing for relief.

Taking warm drinks like tea or soup broth can help, take a healthy diet, stay well hydrated, learn relaxation techniques to combat stress. MS hug is triggered by stress, exhaustion, incomplete sleep, common cold, fatigue, etc. Avoid it. Make lifestyle changes that is comfortable, avoid very long drives (it may affect your spine), heavy work, strenuous routine as it will trigger MS hug pain. Get frequent massage done. Change your position, occasionally getting up and walking.

Consult a physical therapist for exercises that will help to reduce MS hug pain and discomfort. Head and neck exercises, shoulder exercises, trunk and hip exercises will help. You will be treated with analgesics, pain relievers, muscle relaxants, etc. You should include food rich in vitamin B6, B12 in your regular diet. You can take supplements for nerve repair like Nerve Up OD, take it once daily for 15 days. Get examined by a neurologist for further management.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
