Dr Kumar - My father in law has ringing in the ears, a heavy head and feels unbalanced when this is happening. There are some days when it feels worse. He's had an MRI done of the brain which came back negative. He's 76 yrs old. He is diabetic, take blood pressure med and cholestorol med too. Doctor changed his baby aspring to adult asprin. He use to be very active prior to this. He has an appt with an ear specialist but was hoping you can give me more insight to this situation.
Hi , I have gone through your query; it suggests that your father in law may be suffering from the tinnitus due to the sensorineural hearing loss aggravated by high blood pressure and diabetes. For better management your father in law may go for 1. Pure tone audiometry. 2. Strict blood pressure and diabetes control.
Thanks
