I have a reoccurring red raised oval shaped spot that pops up about every 4-6 months in a different area on my torso. I treat it as ringworm, and it completely goes away in about a month. It has never been itchy or perfectly round. It seems to just eventually fade away. I did get a severe case of ringworm about five years ago from an infected cat. And I ve also had pityriasis rosea. My question being, is this really ringworm that keeps popping up? What else could it possibly be. It only appears in a single spot that is gone for a long time before another shows up. Thanks for your time
It may be granuloma annulare. Consult the dermatologist for the perfect diagnosis and proper treatment. Local application of tacrolimus lotion may be supplied on the lesion. Take a course of oral steroid in tapering dose. Do not worry. It is a benign condition of unknown origin.
