What Causes Recurrent Inflammation In Cartilage Of Throat?
I get recurrent inflammation in the cartiledge in my throat area. It is so painful that it is difficult to swallow and I sound raspy when I speak, like I have laryngitis. This happens amost 6 times a year or more when it is so bad. It hurts to talk, eat or swallow. I also had radioactive iodine treatment for removal of my thyroid gland 7 years ago. I have had this problem for years. Wondering how this condition can be diagnosed or what it may be?
Some queries needs to be solved? Where exactly you get inflamed cartilages, within throat or at middle of neck outside? How old are you? Any other medical condition?
General advice: 1. Avoid cold foods and beverages 2. Avoid spicy and oily foods and beverages 3. Drink water frequently in sips 4. gargle throat with warm saline water frequently 5. Maintain proper food hygiene 6. Observe respiratory hygiene: use face mask, avoid allergens if any, avoid tobacco 7. Vocal hygiene: voice rest and conservation, avoid speaking loud and shouting 8. Take steam inhalation
