What Causes Rashes And Constant Itching Due To All Hypertensive Drugs?
I have develop a rash and constant itching from all category of anti hypertensive drugs . I have patches of eczema inner arms tops of feet which were mild and manageable until i took drugs Patches and red and irritable overall itching Reduced by antihistamine but not eradicated Itching is generalised . I moisturise and use topical steroids with some relief any answers?
I understand your concern, and would like to explain that, as it seems to be a drug related allergy, many times it is difficult to identify the offending cause for that clinical scenario. As it may be related to any of the active ingredients of those antihypertensive drugs, as well as any inactive additive ingredients of those pills.
It is necessary to perform a comprehensive investigation supervised by an expert on the field (allergologist), to guide a differential diagnosis by exclusion (withdrawing drugs one by one), as well as specific allergy tests to explore all the possible compounds that could be responsible to allergy development.
It is very importat to get successfully through this challenging process, as some antihypertensive drugs should be avoided, leaving the free space to other non responsible safer alternative drugs.
Hope to have been helpful to you. Greetings! Dr. Iliri
