Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i was wondering if im anemic. ive always been very pale and prone to cold hands and feet, but lately ive been getting a lot of head rushes and charlie horses in my calves. im also fatigued and have erratic sleeping habits, but once again, thats not really anything new. my heart rate seems to have sped up and i feel like i have palpitations occasionally, but i was wondering if maybe all these symptoms could just be a result of my IF dieting and marijuana use. i also make a point of eating as healthy as possible and taking vitamins. do you think im anemic?
I passed carefully through your question and would explain that your symptoms could be related to a metabolic disorder. For this reason, I recommend consulting with your attending physician for a physical exam and some blood lab tests:
- complete blood count for anemia
- thyroid hormone levels for thyroid gland dysfunction
- blood electrolytes for possible imbalance
- vitamin D plasma levels for possible deficiency.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka,
Cardiologist
