What Causes Purple Discoloration Of Foot After Tibia Fracture?
I crushed above ankle and fractured fibia and tibia. I ve had three surgeries in last 4 months including having halo on till swelling went down then put in plates and screws, still not healing and not getting good blood flow so another surgery to do bone graf. I have none weight bearing the whole time. Its has been 1 month after bone graf and still when every I put my leg down my foot turn purple is that and stays purple till I put back up if ths ok
Hi, Pls consult nearest orthopaedic surgeon and request him to palpate your distal pulses ( dorsalis pedis , anterior tibial and posterior tibial pulses ).If the volume of the pulses is normal as compared to the opposite side , then i don't think u need to worry about it. If it seems to be of lower volume, then i advice u to undergo an arterial doppler to check for patency.
Even at the time of crush , if one of your vessels is injured, stil there is nothing to worry as the others develop a collateral circulation. As a matter of fact pls do not worry.
Eat good food Stop smoking Constantly move your toes and ankle
