when you don't have regular cycles for a long time due to PCOS. and then have a cycle that was brought on by the pills, it is common for that period to be very heavy. however, if you stay on the pills and they give you regular cycles, then over time your periods should become more normal. the back pain may simply be due to period cramps, as you are having a heavy period, but of the back pain persists after your period you should see your doctor as it may be something else. the bruises on your legs are probably not related, however if your legs or if one of your legs is tender and swollen, you should stop the pills and see your doctor right away to make sure it is not a blood clot which is rare but could be very dangerous. I hope this helps, please let me know if you have any more questions.
