What Causes Prolonged Menstrual Bleeding?

I have been bleeding for a month straight my doctor gave me norethisrone to stop my periods and I ve still been bleeding on them. I normally have heavy periods since having the mirena coil removed but never experienced bleeding between periods before.

Hi I think you need a high dose of progesterone to stop the bleeding or you can use injections of tranexamic acid to stop the bleeding. Talk to your doctor regarding this. If it doesn't work, you may require a therapeutic D and C to stop the bleeding. Get a thyroid profile and prolactin level and a ultrasound done to see uterus and ovaries to find out the cause of heavy bleeding. Hope it helps.
