What Causes Problem In Chest While Breathing?

Hi, I'm having a bit of trouble breathing and it feels like someone is standing on my chest. Thing is, I'm only seventeen, I don't have asthma, and I don't smoke. I'm not having any trouble with a cough or fever, nothing, just a tight VERY uncomfortable feeling in my chest and maybe a little in my throat. It eases every so often, but keeps coming back. Been going on for about an hour now. I sometimes have trouble with reflux (got if from my dad), could that effect it? I've been eating pizza... Oh, and I'm female, in case that changes anything.

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can I can understand your.
Yes, GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease) cat cause chest pressure, heaviness and breathing difficulty.
GERD is due to laxity of gastroesophageal sphincter. Because of this the acid of the stomach tends to come up in the esophagus and cause symptoms of chest tightness, pressure, heaviness, breathing difficulty etc.
So follow these steps for better symptomatic relief.
1. Avoid hot and spicy food. Avoid junk food. Avoid fast food like pizza, sandwich, burgers etc.
2. Avoid stress and tension.
3. Avoid large meals, instead take frequent small meals.
4. Take antacid like pantoprazole on empty stomach.
5. Go for walking after meals.
Don't worry, you will be alright with all these.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
