What Causes Pitting Edema In The Right Ankle And Foot?

I have 3+pitting edema in my right leg ankle and foot. There is no pain and No homans sign. Swelling increases the longer I am up. I have high np and I am taking meds for that and for my thyroid. Which was removed and cancerous . Any ideas why this is happening only on the right side? Yes I am obese and work long hours.

Hello,

Pitting edema may be due to fluid retention was seen in infection or deep vein thrombosis or anemia or filariasis or lymphatic edema etc.

Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is.

Avoid spicy food and alcohol avoid smoking and caffeine drinks.

Get it done Doppler of lower limbs, ECG, chest X-ray.

Please consult your physician he will examine and treat you accordingly.
