Hello, Bleeding from hymen is commonly not for a long period. Bleeding occurs for a day or two and some may only experience spotting. Hymen bleeding is thin and red while period bleeding is thick dark red with vaginal fluid and remnants of endometrial wall in it. Your symptoms are indicative of period blood. You are advised to get clinically examined by a Gynae to detect imperforate hymen. Imperforate hymen may cause heavy bleeding when split or torn, it may require minor surgery to remove the extra hymenal tissue and create a normal sized vaginal opening.
