What Causes Persistent Sneezing Along With Swelling Around Eyes?

My 6 year old son went to the asthma dr today for a follow up and come to find out he had 100.4 temperature and a possible ear infection (too much ear wax so the dr couldn t see clearly). We came home and all the sudden my son started sneezing like 15 times in a row so I had him shower & when he was done his eyes were super puffy. I gave him children s Benadryl (which I later realized was expired 9 months ago). It s been 2 hours, his eyes are still puffy and runny nose. Should I give him a dose of new Benadryl? This is never happens! It all just started as a follow up at the asthma dr and I was just telling the dr how great he s neem!

As per your complain sneezing like 15 times in a row with puffy eyes eyes and runny nose are all due to symptoms of allergic reaction leading to the following symptoms..
Runny nose seems to be due to Allergic Rhinitis..
The symptoms can be due to causes like allergic reaction to environmental irritants like pollen, animal danders, certain trees, grasses, dust and mites while can also be due to allergic reaction to any medication or food..

You can very well give him benadryl as it is anti allergic and will relieve the symptoms..
Make him do steam inhalations..

But along with it you should also consult an Allergist or his treating physician and get evaluated and he can advise blood tests to rule out the exact cause of the symptoms and treat him accordingly..

Elimination exposure to the cause of the reaction can help in resolution of symptoms as well as prevent further outbreaks..
