Otolaryngologist / ENT Specialist, Dr. Omair's Response
Hello,
I have few questions to better answer your concerns. Do you have fever? is there any difficulty in swallowing? are these patches only in one tonsil or both? have you ever been diagnosed with Acute Tonsillitis?
With the limited information you provided, it seems that you have acute on chronic follicular tonsillitis where white patches appear in tonsillitis filled with pus. If you don't have fever and pain, then conservative treatment is enough. 1) Warm saline gargles 2) Tab Zyrtec 3) Tab Panadol when required.
If you develop fever or difficulty in swallowing then you would need antibiotics. I am sure the above mentioned conservative treatment will be very helpful. If symptoms persists, then please visit your local ENT doctor for further assessment and management.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Omair Choudhry, Otolaryngologist / ENT Specialist
