What Causes Painless Lumps On Labia Majora During Pregnancy?

Im 32 weeks pregnant and noticed tiny painless lumps similar to little pimples on my libia Majora. There is about 3. They cause no pain and I was wondering if this should be a cause for concern. I do have some vaginal discharge which my doctor says in normal in pregnancy, I was thinking it may be caused by this as the area is generally wet most of the time due to this.

Hello and I hope I can help you today.

Many glands are present in the labia- some produce sweat, some the oil that lubricates your hair follicles. These glands can enlarge from hormones, or get blocked like pimples.

Applying a warm wet cloth to the area a few times a day may help to open the glands, but if they do not bother you they require no treatment and will likely go away after you have the baby.

I hope this advice was helpful and that o was able to answer your question.

Best wishes, Dr. Brown
