What Causes Pain On Left Side Of Chest And Breathlessness?

Hi... I am 34 years old and i want to know what's wrong with my body.... I have difficulty in breathing and i feel a slight pain (not really pain but like a pressure building up on my nape area). It affects my breathing. I have been experiencing this for 2 months now. I cannot sleep because everytime i am about to fall asleep i feel like i am short of breath and it forces me to wake up. Also for two months now, i have been experiencing some pain around the area below my left breast. The pain doesn't last long though. Just for a few seconds but it just keeps coming. It's like i'm being poked by a small pin but i know the pain is inside my ribcage.

Hi Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern.

Your symptoms suggest that you might be suffering from Angina / heart attack. Main cause is coronary artery disease, However it can arise from anemia, abnormal heart rhythms and heart failure. You will have tightness in chest, difficulty in breathing, pain in left side of chest radiating in hand or jaw.
Also you have breathlessness during sleep or lying done, which is also symptom of heart disease.
Sublingual intake of nitroglycerine/ isosorbide nitrate (Sorbitate) should be done in case of severe pain
You should visit a physician/ cardiologist an ECG or ECHO would be done. Don't take this problem lightly.

Hope your query is solved
