What Causes Pain In The Throat Extending Towards The Bottom Of The Neck?
Really getting scared lately but also been under alot of stress....Outside of my throat hurts (aches more really) all the way down from under my chin to bottom of my neck. Today, my ears completely stopped up so that I hear feedback in them similar to a cell phone. It is like a 3 second delay on words before I actually hear them. I m not dizzy or sick in anyway...what should I do? I am 53 year old woman / smoker / 5 5 / 180 lbs - 1/2 Sister has had Thyroid cancer
Pain throat is commonly due to infection(Pharyngitis) spreading to the lymph nodes, tonsillitis, thyroid nodules, throat cancer, etc. Since you have a history of smoking, you are suggested to stay away from any kind of addictions.
Get physically examined, get blood workouts, imaging tests, biopsy if required done. You should have an audiometry test along with ear examination done. Get evaluated for the factor causing the symptoms.
Your treatment will depend upon the severity of the illness detected. In the meantime you can take Acetaminophen (Tylenol) to get relieve from the pain. Do warm saline gargle or us Listerine water for gargling 2-3 times a day.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
