What Causes Pain In The Rectal Region?

5 days a go I started to get a pain in the rectal area and by Friday the pain had significantly increased. When I woke up on Sunday morning there was alot of blood in that area and again each day since. I went to the walk in centre who have referred me to a specialised surgery to have a look but this could take a few weeks. The doctor who looked at it says I have a golf ball sized lump thats fairly hard and is pink in colour and in front of that there is a 2cm diameter sized white lump. Can you advice over the possible causes

Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to hemorrhoids. Some advices that I can give to you are:
-Apply an over-the-counter hemorrhoid cream or suppository containing hydrocortisone
-Use pads containing witch hazel or a numbing agent.
- Soak regularly in a warm bath or sitz bath. Soak your anal area in plain warm water 10 to 15 minutes two to three times a day.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi
